Bio
Hello, I’m John Richardson.
I’m an author, speaker, and digital media creator. Many people know me because of my articles and downloadable templates on goal setting, habit change, and time management. I’ve been blogging on personal development for over twelve years where I try to find the best strategies for success.
I research topics and solutions from writers and speakers across a wide range of disciplines — entrepreneurs, CEOs, academics, and more — to uncover what empowers these people to be the best at what they do. Then, I share what I learn in blog posts, articles, and a weekly email newsletter.
Over the years, my articles have been read by over a million visitors to the site and shared on outlets including Lifehacker, Michael Hyatt, and numerous blog networks. I don’t have all the answers, but I’ve found some strategies that work well and others that don’t.
My Vision
The core of my work is a simple, but compelling question:
How can we achieve personal success?
I try to answer that question by taking the complex and simplifying it into ideas and strategies that most anyone can understand. What are the principles and habits that shape our success and failure? What are the techniques that successful people use to get more organized, productive and efficient? Do these ideas really work? I beta test many of them in my own life.
I study the latest scientific research in habit change, goal setting, and productivity, but temper the findings with real word outcomes. Just because some researcher in a controlled environment got a particular result, doesn’t mean that outcome will be the same for you in your life. I’m a skeptic until I see tangible results. There are often hidden roadblocks in our lives and mental barriers that are not easy to overcome. Taking a step back and looking at the problem holistically can often help us take a positive step forward.
My ultimate goal is to assist you to find personal success in your life by focusing on a simple question. Is it possible to change habits and routines that are not efficient into ones that bring happiness, joy, and success? If so, how do we do it? My hope is that some of the ideas presented here will help you set important goals, make you more efficient, and help you build better habits.
